2021 SA Laser Run Championships

The 2021 SA Laser Run Championships were held at Somerset College near Somerset West in the Western Cape on the 27th of March. The Laser-Run combines laser shooting and running and launched in 2014 as the last part of the full Modern Pentathlon competition. Athletes of all ages from 8 to 80 can participate and the event can be staged on beaches, in cities and in the countryside. SA Modern Pentathlon Championships

The 2021 SA Modern Pentathlon Championships were held at Somerset College near Somerset West in the Western Cape on the 27th of March The modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport that comprises five different events; fencing (one-touch épée), freestyle swimming (200 m), equestrian show jumping (15 jumps), and a final combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running (3200 m). This last event is now referred to as the laser-run, since it alternates four legs of laser pistol shooting followed by an 800 m run (for 3200 m in total). Shanae Williams

One of the best parts of my job is working with new emerging sports stars. People like Shanae Williams . Shanae is definitely a proper talent, holding national colours in no less than 4 different sporting disciplines including water polo and synchronised swimming. She is now concentrating on her triathlon career where she has competed internationally and in a Covid disrupted 2020 she won the prestigious Durban Ultra Triathlon. Athletes compete during the IRONMAN African Championship at Nelson Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth South Africa. The race consists of a 3.8km swim, a 180km cycle and finishes with a 42.2 km marathon. Jailbreak Triathlon

Jailbreak Triathlon Triathletes competed in this very popular triathlon held on a piping hot day at the Brandvlei Dam, near Rawson in the Western Cape of South Africa.
