The Woolworths XTRI! 2022 took place on the 4th of December in the stunning surroundings of Paul Cluver Wines in Grabouw, Western Cape, South Africa. This thrilling event featured a 1km swim, a 40km mountain bike ride, and a 10km trail run, with shorter routes for the less fit or ambitious. Throw in a couple of trail runs and a 5km walk for those who aren’t quite up to a triathlon, and it was a true smorgasbord of fun.
With stunning views of the surrounding Elgin Valley and Overberg Mountains, the swim took place in a beautiful farm dam, before the bike and run courses took athletes through, and over, some of the most picturesque terrain in the area. The event also offered some great prizes for the winners, as well as spot prizes, such as a Sailfish wetsuit for lucky participants.
The Woolworths Off-road Cross Triathlon is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a fun and rewarding challenge. Not only will you get to explore some of the best scenery in the Western Cape, but you will also get to meet and compete with other athletes from all over the country.
